Meet Dr. Scott Halkyard

Scott Halkyard, DMD, MS, earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the College of Dental Medicine-Illinois at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. He earned his Master of Science in Biotechnology with a focus in Molecular Endocrinology from Illinois State University. He has experience working as an EMT in the state of Illinois, an International Trauma Life Support Instructor, a teaching assistant while at Illinois State University, and a research assistant at Midwestern University CDMI.

Dr. Scott was very committed to conducting research at Illinois State University and Midwestern University CDMI. As a result of his successful research, he co-authored numerous publications in scientific journals and presented his work at several research symposiums in Illinois, Tennessee, and North Carolina.

Throughout his college career, Dr. Scott received multiple prestigious awards because of his dedication to his studies and research. He was extremely honored to be inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Beta Epsilon Chapter. This honor is presented to students who rank highest in scholarship in their class and demonstrate exemplary character traits.

Dr. Scott’s professional memberships include the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Chicago Dental Society, and the Illinois Valley Dental Society. He feels it is imperative to participate in continuing education courses on the most current and advanced methods in dentistry to provide excellent patient care.

In his free time, Dr. Scott enjoys bowling, fishing, flying his drone, and spending time with his friends and family.
